Meet Sandy Lipman
Great Dane Specialist, Trainer & Photographer at Rockwood Dog Training

My journey with dogs began in 1986 with my first Great Dane, Portia—and I’ve never looked back. Since then, my passion for this magnificent breed (and many others) has shaped both my professional and personal life. In 1992, I began showing my fawn boy Hugo, who won Best Puppy in Show at Barry & District Canine Society, sparking a long and rewarding involvement in the show world.

I’ve bred over nine generations of Great Danes, producing multiple champions and many Crufts competitors. I’m proud to serve on the committee of the Midland and West of England Great Dane Club, the UK’s oldest of its kind. As a Championship Show-level judge, I’ve had the honour of judging internationally, including at the Great Dane Club of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia in 2016.

Outside the ring, I’m also a portrait artist and dog photographer, bringing out the beauty and personality of dogs through my lens and brush.

My journey with Rockwood began in 2008 when I started obedience and agility training with my Dane, Lisvane Razzle Dazzle (affectionately known as Bubble). That experience opened a new chapter for me—leading to my involvement in assisting classes and helping other dog owners discover the joy of training.

Rockwood isn’t just a training school—it’s a family. Ellen Ball is nothing short of a ‘Dog Whisperer,’ and I continue to learn something new in every session. It’s a privilege to work with such dedicated people and their wonderful dogs, many of whom become lifelong members of our community.
